Fire and ems services within the Hebgen Basin & Town of West Yellowstone

The Hebgen Basin Fire District is located on the west side of Yellowstone National Park in Gallatin County, Montana.  It services the town of West Yellowstone, Montana as well as the Hebgen Lake Basin area. Over 1,000 residents call this area home and over four million people travel to visit our unique backyard every year.  The HBFD works cooperatively with Yellowstone National Park and local agencies.

HBFD is committed to serving the community through education, staff training, and state of the art equipment.  We strive for excellence in our services and are proud that all of our staff has a friendly, compassionate, and dedicated attitude toward the people and families they serve as well as toward the task at hand.    

OPEN BURNING 

Burning is now open March 1- November 30 

Fire permits must be purchased online through Gallatin County: https://gallatinburnpermits.com. This website shows the Districts open burn status and has a public burn map showing all active burn permits for the day.  Please keep in mind that before you burn you activate your permit, check the weather, monitor the conditions and always have a water source in the event the fire gets bigger than anticipated.  Please remember if your fire escapes, you are financially responsible for any damages.  To confirm the materials you can burn please visit: www.readygallatin.com.

THANK YOU to all the business that helped us raise money for coats for West Yellowstone children. Thank you to all the people and businesses that donated to this program-you helped us raise $5,024.00. You are greatly appreciated, and we have ordered 85 coats, 20 pairs of snow pants, and 12 pairs of gloves.
